Historic KU Leuven hosts Marie Curie Alumni Association Annual Conference and General Assembly

Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) prepares to welcome international delegates to its Annual Conference and General Assembly in Leuven, Belgium on 2nd and 3rd February 2018. The city´s Mayor, Louis Tobback will open proceedings at the distinguished Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) which will host this year’s event.

The yearly event is an opportunity to connect researchers throughout Europe, and around the world, and enable international transdisciplinary collaborations. Over 60 esteemed speakers, industry experts and event sponsors will be available sharing their knowledge on Innovation in Europe, Science Communication and Career Paths to name a few, to the 400+ delegates.

2018’s General Assembly will also see MCAA Members elect a new MCAA Board, who will govern the Association for the next two years.

MCAA is proud to present a wide and varied program that deals with many issues in the fields of researcher career development, innovation, science policy, science communication, gender equality, grant writing, intellectual property rights and open science. MCAA members will present over 80 Posters relating to their research work.

MCAA Board Chair Brian Cahill said “Our Annual Conference and General Assembly is the biggest event that MCAA has ever organised. It is an opportunity for our association to present its works to our members and help develop their careers and promote networking. I look forward to a very productive event that drives engagement within our membership and presents our work to a wider audience.”

The Marie Curie Alumni Association is an association of researchers who have benefitted or are benefiting from a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) are a set of major mobility research grants created by the European Union/European Commission to support research in the European Research Area (ERA).
